Advertising Policy
How we keep ads clearly labeled, separate from editorial content, and safe for older adults.
1) Purpose & scope
TheVitatrack displays ads to help keep our senior-friendly guides, checklists, and tools free. This policy explains how ads appear on our site and the standards we enforce to protect readers.
We may use third-party ad partners (such as Google AdSense/Ad Manager) to serve ads you see on our pages. All ad delivery must comply with this policy and our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
2) Editorial independence
- Ads do not influence our medical topics, writing, or rankings of content.
- No advertiser may review or edit our articles, checklists, or tools.
- We keep a strict separation between the editorial and advertising teams.
3) Ad labeling & disclosure
Clear labels. Ads are visually distinct from articles and tools. They may appear in standard display slots or in-article formats and are marked so users understand they are promotional.
No confusion. Editorial links and recommendations are not paid unless clearly disclosed as “Sponsored” or “Partner.”
4) Placement & reader experience
| We allow | We avoid |
|---|---|
| Reasonable display placements (e.g., near header, between sections, end of page). | Layout that obscures content, covers text, or blocks navigation. |
| In-article formats that maintain readability and page speed. | Auto-play audio/video, flashing or rapidly animating creatives. |
| Frequency that respects senior readers; we monitor density and CLS. | Excessive ad density or deceptive UI that mimics editorial content. |
5) Content standards (allowed / not allowed)
Not allowed on TheVitatrack:
- Illegal products/services, hate or violence, harassment, or misinformation.
- Ads promoting dangerous health claims, unapproved medical treatments, or miracle cures.
- Adult content, tobacco/vape, recreational drugs, weapons/explosives.
- Malware, misleading downloads, or cloaking.
Restricted: We may restrict or block categories that are inappropriate for older adults (for example, high-risk financial schemes). We reserve the right to reject any ad at our discretion.
6) Targeting, privacy & cookies
- Our ad partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. See our Privacy Policy for details and choices.
- Where required by law, we present consent tools to control ad personalization.
- We do not sell personal information and expect partners to meet applicable privacy laws.
7) Sponsored content & affiliates
If we publish a sponsored post or include affiliate links, we will label them clearly (e.g., “Sponsored,” “Partner,” or a plain disclosure). Sponsored content must meet our medical, quality, and safety standards and is reviewed for accuracy and fit for older adults.
8) Report an ad concern
If you see an ad that is misleading, offensive, broken, or unsafe, please send a screenshot/URL to team@thevitatrack.com. We review reports and, when appropriate, block or escalate ads to our partners.
9) Changes to this policy
We may update this page to reflect platform changes, new legal requirements, or improvements to user experience. The “last updated” date will change when we make material updates.
